Drivers warned about the dangers of summer partiesWith the summer party season in full swing make sure you don't risk losing your cheap online car insurance, say police officials. Police in West Yorkshire have launched a summer drink driving campaign to reduce the number of people involved in accidents caused by drivers who have had one to many at a party. According to statistics, nearly 6,000 motorists were arrested for driving over the limit last year and sadly, the majority of these arrests included drivers aged between 17 and 24. The West Yorkshire Assistant Chief Constable said: "We crack down on drink-driving all year round, but the summer campaign will help us raise awareness even further of the dangers of driving over the limit." Commenting on the fight against drink driving, head of education for the road safety charity Brake, Jools Townsend added: "Drinking and driving causes carnage on our roads and devastates families and communities." Motorists caught behind the wheel after having a few drinks to celebrate the summer season could be putting their online car insurance at risk and may well have to pay a higher motor insurance premium in the future.
