Young driver suffers low flying pigeon attack

A female driver was lucky not to have to make a claim on her young driver insurance after she became hysterical when a pigeon flew into her car.

The 22-year-old driver from Staines was lucky not to cause an accident after she came to an abrupt halt on a busy road on her way to work.

After winding the passenger window down, the young woman did not expect to be accosted by a low flying pigeon which flew straight through the window and became trapped inside the car.

The incident left the driver so hysterical that she was unable to re-enter her Volkswagen Polo until passing motorists helped free the bird from the car. Two police cars attended the scene to move the Polo which was blocking the busy 'A' road and help divert traffic around the scene.

Once most of the feathers had been removed from the woman's car and she had been calmed down by police officers, she managed to make her way to work albeit a bit late and rather flustered.

Luckily for the driver, other than a bit of mess and a few feathers, no serious damage was done to the car or the pigeon so she avoided having to make any car insurance claims on her young driver insurance.
