Drivers warned that young horse is loose on the M66

Motorists on the M66 outside Manchester are warned to expect equine obstructions after a four-month-old foal was seen wandering across the southbound carriageway at rush hour.

Fortunately, Suki the foal could be caught before any unpleasant young driver car insurance claims had to be made.

Police coaxed her over the hard shoulder where she was cuffed and taken in for questioning.

Mike Page, spokesman for the young driver car insurance specialists at Hoot, said: "Thank heavens there weren't any motor insurance claims to be made after Suki's brush with the traffic.

"It certainly sounds like she had a close call."
