Car sales keep increasing as 2007 goes on, with the Ford Focus being one of the most popular vehicles to buy.
Halfway through the year and in the month of July, the most sought-after car for British motorists has been the Ford Focus - a stylish and economical car that usually offers a cheap car insurance rate to boot .
According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), despite the increase of interest rates, 176,000 new cars were sold in July, a rise of 4.9% since January.
The SMMT chief executive commented on the success for Ford and said: "Trying to predict the spending habits of the motorist is as tricky as forecasting the weather and July has given us both these challenges in spades. In spite of interest rate rise concerns and the traditional quiet holiday period, new car registrations have exceeded expectations."
But out of all the cars that made it to the top of the list including Vauxhall's Corsa and Astra, the Ford Focus proved to be the most popular car among UK customers.
