Car insurance for young drivers threatened by fraudsters
Cheap car insurance for young drivers is constantly under threat from bad drivers who cause car accidents.
The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) has recently obtained convictions against two men who fraudulently took driving tests for motorists who could not pass or would not take the test.
The men were sentenced at Croydon Crown Court and received a 12 month and six month sentence respectively after pleading guilty for conspiracy to obtain driving test certificates by deception.
The men had sat up to 18 fraudulent practical driving tests on behalf of others between February 2004 and March 2006.
DSA fraud boss, Andrew Rice, said, "Tackling impersonations is a key priority for the Agency as offenders present a significant danger to road safety."
A Hoot spokesperson commented, "Obtaining cheap car insurance for young drivers is made extremely difficult by people who cause unnecessary car accidents because they have not bothered to learn to drive to the required standard. These convictions are very welcome."
