Frizzell beats online car insurance giants in satisfaction poll

Online car insurance provider Esure has been pipped to the post in a recent customer satisfaction survey by little-known rival Frizzell.

The Bournemouth-based car insurance firm beat off competition from a host of established motor insurance brands - including its own parent company Liverpool Victoria - to claim first place in the poll, carried out by benchmarking company Consumer Intelligence (CI).

When quizzed as to why Frizzell had performed better than sixth-place Liverpool Victoria, a CI spokesperson regretted he couldn't offer a definite answer. "The difference is probably due to customers' perception," he said.

"Consumers may have a higher expectation of Liverpool Victoria than they do of Frizzell, which means that the Liverpool Victoria brand has to work harder to delight customers."

"It's good to see subsidiary firms giving the established brands a run for their money," said Mike Page, spokesperson for the online car insurance experts at Hoot.
