Cheap car insurance seekers should look beyond TPFT

Opting for third party cover rather than a fully comprehensive policy isn't necessarily your best bet for cheap car insurance, according to Insurancewide.com.

Research carried out by the online car insurance comparison site shows that some people who routinely buy third party, fire and theft (TPFT) could actually save money by upping their standard of cover.

According to Insurancewide's chief executive: "People who perhaps don't use their cars much or who lock them up safely are still opting for TPFT cover when in fact they could pay less and be more protected."

He went on to explain that finding cheap car insurance depends on 'a whole host of variables,' of which level of cover is just one.
