Greener driving can help lower the cost of young
driver insurance as well as cutting the cost of your fuel
bills. The 'eco-driving' method, as the AA have termed it,
is not only better for the environment but also safer as the
driving techniques for safer and greener driving are fundamentally
the same.
This means that young
drivers can save money and keep themselves safer on the
roads at the same time. The AA suggest that by adopting some
simple driving habits such as turning off the engine while
in traffic jams and avoiding harsh steering, drivers can save
up to 10% on a weekly fuel bill and decrease their impact
on the environment.
The head of road safety at the AA, Andrew
Howard, remarked that 'eco-driving' gives the driver "Some
kind of pay off" which means they are more likely to continue
to use the safer and greener driving techniques.
With the effect
of the credit crunch really beginning to bite, the chance
to save a few quid is not to be sniffed at as the cost of
young
driver insurance and fuel bills make motoring in the current
climate only just affordable.
