Boyracer banned for YouTube flick
The Daily Mail report that a teenager who fancied himself as a bit of a Lewis Hamilton has been banned from the road and in the process surely put himself at a disadvantage in the cheap car insurance market.
This action was taken after the youth posted footage on video website YouTube encouraging other drivers to drive at high speed down a local road, even challenging them to beat his speeds and times. There are no reports as to whether any other person was willing to risk life, limb and the future of their cheap car insurance by taking him up on this offer.
A judge imposed the ban on the teenager after issuing him with six-point penalty and a £140 fine.
When the teenager is once again eligible to return to the road he will have to retake his test, he will doubtless also face a struggle to find himself cheap car insurance. And judging by the media's reaction to his YouTube stunt, he will find little sympathy for his plight.
As one blogger commented, "It is boyracers like him who drive up the cost of motor insurance in this country."
