Car insurance quote news 14/11/2007
Pupils policing roadsPupils at a school in Harlow are providing new impetus in the fight against irresponsible driving - many of who risk their chances of receiving a cheap car insurance quote - by using radar guns to clock the speeds of passing cars. Working in conjunction with police, they monitor the speeds of vehicles passing their school. When they observe a vehicle travelling above the speed limit, they then notify police so that the offending driver can be pulled over. Once pulled over, the police give the driver a stark choice: either they receive penalty points on their license or they face an interview with the schoolchildren. One advantage to drivers of choosing an interview with the children is that it is far less likely to adversely affect their chances of receiving a cheap car insurance quote than choosing the alternative would. Police Constable David Kealy commented, "If the driver is speeding their stopping distance is restricted, which is just a recipe for disaster." The idea that drivers will be more responsive to the concerns of the children who are endangered by their driving forms the rationale behind the scheme. It is also thought that, if effective, the move will eventually benefit drivers by making them safer motorists and consequently increasing their chances of receiving a cheap car insurance quote.
