A young trainee Leicester accountant convicted for driving whilst disqualified and without UK car insurance may find it difficult to get a cheap quote in the future.
The 23-year-old man from Blaby, Leicestershire, was caught committing the driving offences in Braunstone earlier this year after police witnessed his Vauxhall Astra mount a kerb.
At Leicester Crown Court, the Magistrates' chairman said: "How would you feel if someone mounted the kerb in a moment of madness and killed a member of your family? "By your actions, this is exactly what you are doing."
The male driver pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and was given a three-year driving ban.
A spokesperson for Hoot Car Insurance Services, the experts in online car insurance, said: "Driving without motor insurance, especially whilst disqualified is a very serious offence. In the future, he may well have a difficult job finding an affordable UK car insurance quote."
