Cheap car insurance thing of past for drink driver
A drink driver who asked police for the time may have seriously risked his chance to get cheap car insurance in the future.
The 23-year-old German man had been drinking with friends in Poland when he pulled over to ask somebody for the time. To his dismay he had asked an off-duty officer who said he was going to arrest him on suspicion of drink-driving.
The driver then sped off only to drive straight into a police compound, which he became trapped inside. A breath test later revealed that he was two times over the legal drinking limit.
A spokesperson for Hoot Car Insurance Services, the experts in young driver car insurance, said: "It's lucky for other motorists that this man drove straight into a police compound. He could have seriously injured somebody on the roads not to mention risk his cheap car insurance premiums in the future."
