Italian Job Minis top online car insurance firm pollThree Minis from the 1960's classic The Italian Job have come out on top as Britain's favourite cars from film and television. They beat off competition from the likes of Back to The Future's DeLorean, which was placed second, and third-place Knight Rider's KITT in a recent poll by online car insurance firm elephant.co.uk. The results were a triumph for nostalgia, with many of those questioned voting for the Film and TV cars of their childhood rather than the supercar stars of contemporary blockbusters. "Personally, my favourites are the Minis from the Italian Job," said the online car insurance firm's MD. "I think it's unusual for the cars featured in a film to be as famous as the actors!" To celebrate, elephant.co.uk is offering cheaper car insurance policies to Mini owners.
