Speeding could affect cheap motor insurance quotes for Suffolk drivers

A total of 876 motorists have been caught speeding in the Suffolk area in just five weeks, according to a recent report.

Young drivers are being urged to stick to the speed limit or they could face losing their cheap motor insurance quotes in the future.

The number of drivers caught speeding occurred when a number of roadworks were being carried out in the Suffolk area. Figures released by the Highways Agency revealed that 19 road workers suffered personal injuries last year, possible caused by speeding motorists.

A spokesperson for Suffolk County Council said: "This number of offences is totally unacceptable. Most drivers understand why reduced speed limits are in place but unfortunately there are always some who feel that the rules don't apply to them. The traffic management in place is there for good reason, to protect our workers from danger and to keep the public safe as they drive through the road works."

Mike Page, spokesperson for Hoot Car Insurance Services, the UK car insurance provider, added, "Motorists should really stick to the speed limit. Not only are they endangering lives but they risk losing the chance of getting a cheap motor insurance quote in the future.
