Big Brother style technology hoped to curb young driver deaths and lower insurance for young drivers

Statistically, younger drivers are involved in more accidents which is why insurance for young drivers tends to be higher. However, a driving safety manufacturer today announced the arrival of tiwi™. This in-car monitoring and mentoring device aims to reduce young driver deaths by sounding alerts and notifying parents via phone, text or email of their child's unsafe behaviour.

Using technology employed by NASA, the device helps to change the driver's behaviour by sending speed-related report cards to their parents to help teach them to become accountable for their actions.

This new technology is hoped to reduce young driver accidents and therefore help reduce the high premiums which are associated with insurance for young drivers.
