Leaner driver might not qualify for cheap car insuranceA learner driver could face missing out on cheap car insurance deals in the future after crashing his car into the vehicle of an off duty police officer. The serious car accident occurred in the New Forest, leaving a female trainee Detective Constable needing hospital treatment after being cut free from the wreckage of her car. At Southampton Crown Court, the judge heard how the officer subsequently went on to suffer from post traumatic stress and endured flashbacks of the crash. The learner driver, a 21-year-old male from Southampton, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, as he had no driving licence and no adequate young driver car insurance. In court, he was sentenced to 12 months in jail and given a three year driving ban. In the future, the young driver will have to undergo an extended test before beginning his search for online car insurance. A spokesperson for Hoot Car Insurance Services, the motor insurance experts, said, "As a learner driver, the man could have successfully completed his test and be in the position of searching around for a cheap car insurance policy. Unfortunately, when finally permitted to take his test, he may well have to pay a higher price on his young driver car insurance premium."
