Do footballers worry about finding cheap car insurance?
When you're a premiership footballer you probably don't have to worry too much about hunting around for cheap car insurance. And when you're Cristiano Ronaldo, with a £150,000 Bentley Continental GT as your spare car, well, crashing your two day old Ferrari is like spilling a pint of milk.
According to Media reports the 23-year-old Manchester United star is likely to get a replacement car from his insurance company because the vehicle was brand new, but media reporters are busy speculating on the cause of the car accident.
Ronaldo has told his family that he skidded on a patch of oil in the road, but car pundits feel that the sports car is difficult to crash unless the driver overuses the power.
Police will study CCTV footage of the accident in a tunnel under Manchester airport and will examine tyre marks and road conditions at the scene.
According to the Telegraph police officers may question Ronaldo if they feel there could be grounds for a charge of careless driving.
A spokesperson for Hoot, said, "Providers of cheap car insurance for young drivers are always warning young motorists about the dangers of powerful cars - high profile young drivers such as footballers and actors are no different. The only difference is that they do not appear to worry about their car insurance quote going up."
