Neglecting oil levels wastes savings on cheap car insurance

No matter if you've found a really cheap car insurance quote, if you don't top up your oil levels regularly you may waste any savings through repair costs, the AA warn.

According to a survey carried out by car care company Comma, 17% of motorists have never lifted their bonnet to check oil levels and 1 in 20 are unaware of how to do it. As a low oil level is one of the biggest causes of engine damage, failing to keep an eye on your oil levels could prove a costly mistake and one no young driver wants to make.

Weekly checks on the oil levels should be made alongside other vehicle checks. It is not enough to wait until the red warning light comes on as by then, the damage may already have been done.

Checking your oil levels takes no longer than it does to find cheap car insurance and it could save you almost as much money.
