Green is the way forward says industry expert

It appears that there has been an increase in the number of online car insurance customers buying green motor insurance.

A spokesperson for Co-operative Insurance Services said that although green car insurance is still a niche product, many people seem to be buying it, as people become more environmentally aware.

He added: "I think there are more and more consumers now switching on to green forms of consumerism and I think the financial services are one of those areas.

"The take-up has been very positive and the pleasing thing for us is that the take-up has been across the various demographics, it's not been just one age group that's been switched on to green insurance."

With young driver car insurance customers eager to cut down the cost of not just their premiums but also their carbon footprint, many would want a car that's kind to the environment.

A spokesperson for Hoot Car Insurance Services, the online car insurance experts, said: "It's a positive thing to see so many people becoming aware of the environment and the impact they can have on it. Environmentally friendly services will definitely appeal to lots of motorists across the UK."
