Online car insurance customers in the city pay higher premiumsCity slickers pay higher car insurance premiums, according to recent figures from the AA. If you've been searching for cheap online car insurance recently you may have noticed that some policies differ by quite a large margin. And, if you're currently living in the city and park your vehicle on the street, you could well be paying up to three times more on your motor insurance. The latest figures from the AA have shown that not only can living in built up areas increase the cost of your cheap car insurance but your age and gender could also have a bearing. A spokesperson for the AA said: "There are lots of factors which affect car insurance. "If you're a man having just passed your driving test, you present the highest possible risk to an insurer regardless of the type of car that you drive." In particular, it seems that the area where you live could have a huge effect on your online car insurance quotes. The AA spokesperson added: "Postcodes certainly make a difference to premium costs. If you're in an inner city area and you leave your car on the street you could pay three times the premium of somebody on the outskirts of town in a leafy cul-de-sac with their car parked in the garage."
