Cheap online car insurance news 14/05/2008
Hunt on to find UK's top young driverAn online car insurance company is applauding a UK event to find the best, safest drivers aged from 17 to 21 years old. The Peugeot-sponsored 'Young Driver of the Year' competition is designed to find responsible young men and women interested to improve their motoring skill and take on board feedback. By exhibiting these qualities, young adults who also show they can learn from experts will not only reduce their likely motor insurance quote, but also be contenders to win. Judges will be looking for high standards including the ability to handle cars in pressured situations and potentially hazardous conditions, as well as confident and assured driving. The contest is aimed to encourage and develop safe driving among young adults where a large proportion of road crash fatalities - 25 per cent - has been found to involve car occupants aged 17 to 21. Road safety teams from councils in Coventry and Warwickshire are organising the competition, supported by the Institute of Advanced Motorists and MIRA. Entrants need to be from the region and can apply by completing an online entry form, or paper copies are available from libraries, colleges and schools. A Hoot Car Insurance Services spokesperson said, "This is a terrific initiative that can make a real difference to some young people's driving abilities and skills. "More of these competitions should be held round the country to try to cut youth fatalities on Britain's roads." Hoot is an online car insurance company specialising in young driver car insurance.
