Motorists ditch looks for cheap young driver car insurance

Young driver car insurance could become cheaper as motorists ditch looks in favour of practicality. Pressurised by government calls for greener motoring and worries about money, many motorists are now looking for reliability and efficiency in new cars rather than performance or looks as they previously may have done.

The AA Populus survey found that one third of drivers have been led on an emotional guilt trip by the government and so are seeking more fuel efficient, greener cars.

Smaller cars tend to produce less CO2 emissions which means that not only could they be cheaper to tax and re-fuel, but also easier to find cheap car insurance for due to their smaller engine size.

This is making them much more popular in today's money-conscious climate especially alongside the government's car scrappage scheme which makes a new car attainable for under £10,000. When it comes to cars, big therefore does not always mean better especially if you are looking for cheaper young driver car insurance.
