Princess shaken in BMW car crash
The company which holds the young drivers car insurance policy for Princess Beatrice is facing a claim for her BMW1 after it was badly damaged in a rush-hour car crash near Hyde Park in central London.
The 22-year-old student daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York was shaken but unhurt after the car was apparently squashed between a double-decker bus and a coach as she was driving to Goldsmith's College where she is taking a history degree.
A Metropolitan Police officer, who was with the princess, exchanged details of her insurance provider with the drivers of the other vehicles involved.
In 2009, the princess' car was recovered after it had been stolen from the roadside when she left the keys in the ignition while shopping.
After the latest incident, it is unlikely the Queen's grand-daughter will be eligible for cheap young driver's car insurance &ndash not that insuring her Beemer would ever be cheap, really.
