Young driver car insurance news 22/08/2007
Photocopy your certificate to avoid a penaltyDrivers are being urged to make a photocopy of their young driver car insurance policies after a girl wrongfully had her car confiscated. Motor insurance provider Insurancewide.com has warned motorists that they face risking a fine or even possible confiscation of their car if they're unable to prove that they've taken out adequate car insurance. Insurancewide.com wants drivers to realise that mistakes can happen in the system, and, in the recent case of a girl stopped by police when driving her father's car, when there are no records of a young driver car insurance policy, your vehicle could be confiscated. The chief executive of Insurancewide.com said: "If an insurer is late in reporting a new policy owner's details to the Motor Insurance Database then the unsuspecting driver could mistakenly be deemed 'uninsured' and then fined if stopped by police. "Every driver can avoid this hassle and embarrassment by simply keeping photocopied proof of the insurance in the glove compartment as soon as they received the certificate from the insurer." If you are a young driver car insurance customer, the best way to make sure you are protected from the risk of a fine or even worse, having you car confiscated, get you cheap car insurance policy photocopied as soon as possible.
