School pupils who helped raise £10,000 in a raffle for land mine victims have presented the lucky winner with her prize, a Volkswagen Fox.
In a bid to raise funds for Cambodian land mine victims, four Aberdeen school pupils organised a number of charitable events to raise cash for the much worthy scheme entitled 'The Cambodia Project'.
Events to date include a jumble sale, a school fair, a Cambodia culture evening and even a supermarket bag packing extravaganza. But for one lucky lady who won a Volkswagen Fox, and thanks to the support from the Specialist Cars Volkswagen, the best event to date had to be the raffle.
Commenting on her lucky win, the Volkswagen's new owner said, "I am delighted to have won the car. I must add also that I am very impressed by the efforts of these young people and admire their hard work and determination to help others."
But the raffle winner wasn't the only one to praise the students on their work. The group of youngsters were also selected to receive the Diana Award for all their efforts made in raising money for such a valuable cause.
Commenting on the story, a spokesperson for Hoot Car Insurance Services, the expert motor insurance provider, said, "It's amazing to see young people working so hard to help other people. As for the lucky winner of the Volkswagen Fox, all that's left for her to do is to get the best online car insurance and take her new baby out for a spin."
