Bad weather might affect cheap motor insurance

People with cheap car insurance for new drivers have been told that they will encounter hazardous road conditions when the recent stretch of sunny days comes to an end and rain hits the UK.

The Chief Examiner at the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) pointed out that drivers may have to put up with reduced visibility and increased stopping distances when the bad weather finally arrives.

He also said that motorists should be on the lookout for water pools, which may be concealing something nasty, such as potholes or road sweepings.

Young drivers insurance holders are encouraged to drive slowly, in order to allow for the decreased gripping ability of their tyres during rainy days.

They have also been told of the importance of regularly topping up their vehicles with windscreen washer, and replacing windscreen wipers which aren't functioning properly.

A representative of the AA said, "All drivers, including those with local knowledge, can be caught out during heavy downpours, as even the most modern road is still susceptible to standing water.

"This creates a potential aquaplaning hazard as well as significantly reducing visibility. Drivers should take it easy and if the steering does become unresponsive due to the rain, ease off the accelerator and slow down gradually."

Those individuals with cheap car insurance for new drivers are encouraged to postpone all but the most urgent of trips in the event of flash floods.
