Swansea motorists prepared to risk lives

In a recent report into UK driving behaviour it was revealed that Swansea residents have a lack of respect for the rules of the road. An astonishing 50% of South Welsh locals, including many with cheap car insurance, are fully prepared to zoom through red traffic lights.

Motorists in Southampton are far better behaved, with 74% of friendly individuals willing to let buses out, and 87% stopping at zebra crossings. In further evidence of the respect shown by Southampton drivers it was revealed that many physically able drivers weren't prepared to park in disabled parking spaces.

Among the other areas with well behaved drivers were Leeds, Sheffield and Wrexham.

However, it's clear that individuals with student car insurance may have a great deal to learn about road safety. People from the traditional university cities of Oxford, Cambridge and Edinburgh all fared badly in the behaviour tests.

Tina Shortle, an AXA Insurance representative said, "It's generally supposed that Londoners are the worst drivers when it comes to showing manners so it's surprising to find that it's actually Swansea residents that top the disrespectful list.

"This live experiment clearly highlights the lack of respect road users have for others and the thoughtlessness for safety when on the road. It is this that can cause accidents; sadly, sometimes fatal ones."

Drivers who exercise caution on the British roads can expect to benefit from excellent no claims discount deals when it comes to renewing their cheap car insurance.
