Study offers paradoxical findings
A survey by an online car insurance company has revealed that the month in which people take their driving tests has an impact on the likelihood of them passing as well as their future chances of being involved in an accident.
The online car insurance company reported some strange and paradoxical findings. They found that while December was the month where candidates were least likely to pass their driving tests, it also found that those who do pass in December have the lowest statistical propensity for being involved in road accidents.
In a similarly counter-intuitive finding, the motor insurance provider concluded that although August was the month in which learners were most likely to pass their tests, those who passed in August were also the most likely to be involved in a road traffic incident.
A spokeswoman with the online car insurance company commented, "On balance, I'd say the best month to sit your test is January, which has a reasonably high pass rate combined with a fairly low accident rate."
