When an opportunist thief leapt into the driver's seat of somebody else's car in Brussels, he didn't bargain on finding the owner's young son asleep on the back seat.
The father left his five-year-old nipper for a moment while he drew some money from an ATM - but as soon as he turned his back the car was gone.
The thought of driving a stolen car without a valid car insurance policy clearly didn't bother the thief, but the presence of a sleeping boy did. The unwitting kidnapper abandoned the car in nearby Oudergem when he realised what was going on.
Father and son were soon reunited by Belgian police.
"Does this demonstrate honour among thieves?" asked Mike Page, in-between processing motor insurance quotes for Hoot Car Insurance Services customers.
"I wouldn't recommend leaving children in unlocked cars as an anti-theft system," he added. "Get a crook-lock and a good motor insurance quote instead."
