Schools could help cut motor insurance quotes

Following the recent publication of a report entitled Motoring Offences and Breath Test Statistics 2005 by the Ministry of Justice, UK car insurance companies have been urging schools to do more to educate pupils about responsible driving.

This advice from UK motor insurance companies comes after the report showed that drivers under the age of 21 accounted for 15% of all dangerous driving convictions in Britain during 2005.

A spokesperson for Hoot Car Insurance Services said, "I don't think that I'm alone in the industry in saying that a small minority of young car insurance customers are giving the rest a bad name.

"I'm sure that the nation's schools and teachers are vigilant in teaching young people the values of responsibility, but I'm also sure that a more systemic approach to teaching responsible driving could increase safety on British roads and ultimately lead to cheaper UK car insurance."
