Distractions might be the cause of insurance claims

More young drivers insurance claims may be made if the British weather becomes warmer, according to a report by Kia Motors.

The Korean company revealed that British drivers are prone to becoming irritable during particularly warm days.

Apparently, feelings of frustration can lead to a deterioration in the conduct of motorists who are uncomfortably hot. Some even admitted to venting their anger and risking their young persons car insurance by driving at excessive speeds when temperatures soar.

The Communications Director at Kia Motors UK said, "Whilst the summer sun is guaranteed to lift the mood of the nation, it is clear that Brits can't take the heat.

"Although hot weather in the UK is often rare, it has the effect of getting drivers flustered as there are more distractions or the road."

A significant proportion of drivers who took the Kia survey said that they had become distracted when seeing an attractive pedestrian walking at the side of the road.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the majority of people stated that they felt most attentive at the beginning of the working week, and most prone to having accidents after 9pm.

People who think themselves at particularly high risk of having to make young drivers insurance claims after night time accidents are encouraged to enrol on the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) Skill for Life course. A significant portion of the programme is focussed on safe evening driving.
