In an irony that is likely to be lost on him, a 40-year-old Welsh man has done his chances of receiving cheap car insurance few favours by being prosecuted a second time for driving without valid motor insurance.
Although absent for the sentencing at Neath Magistrate's Court, the Aberavon resident received a four-month ban from driving.
Although it is not known whether the man tried citing frustration in the cheap car insurance market as a defence for his actions, just last year he received a two-month ban and a £150 fine for the same offence.
This time around, the Magistrate ordered him to pay £300 in fines and costs, while giving him a significantly increased driving ban.
