Safe driving competition from Peugeot

You've passed your test, you're aged between 17 and 21 and you have a full clean driving licence. Now, how does getting hold of a brand new Peugeot 107 complete with a year's free car insurance for young drivers sound?

Yes, you could be the proud owner of a shiny new car if you prove yourself to be Coventry and Warwickshire's Young Driver of the Year.

Currently in its third year, the competition, backed by Peugeot and run in conjunction with Warwickshire County Council and Coventry City Council's road safety teams, along with the Institute of Advanced Motorists and MIRA (the independent product engineering, testing, consultancy and certification organisation), aims to promote road safety and to reduce the number of young driver casualties on UK roads.

The organisers are looking for young motorists who can demonstrate a responsible driving attitude, who want to improve their safe driving and who are able to learn quickly with a strong willingness to take on board advice about their driving.

Former Top Gear host, Quentin Wilson is supporting the competition.

He told local press in Coventry, "Young people do not get enough training and support when it comes to learning to drive.

"They are let loose on some of the most crowded and worst-maintained roads in the world and I strongly believe that this competition will help to save lives."
