Videos could increase young driver car insurance
Motorists in Derby who drive dangerously and film themselves may well be risking their young driver car insurance.
Police have decided to crack down on the number of motorists in the local area who film themselves and their friends driving dangerously and then put the footage on video-sharing websites such as YouTube.
A police official said: "There is a high risk of them losing control and harming themselves or others. If people are doing this on the streets of Derby and we catch them, there is a high possibility that they will be prosecuted for dangerous driving."
Commenting in the story, a spokesperson for Hoot Car Insurance Services, the young driver car insurance provider said: "Motorists who drive dangerously in the UK not only put themselves at risk from injury; they could also damage their cheap car insurance premiums."
