A company specialising in young driver car insurance for girls has revealed that many female motorists have put their own lives, and those of other road users, at risk by applying make-up while driving.
Almost 25% of women admitted to putting beauty products on while behind the wheel. This is particularly shocking, given that 84% reportedly said they knew the risks of failing to maintain concentration on the road.
A considerable proportion of female drivers said that they multi-task while behind the wheel as a means of saving time. However, some admitted that their irresponsible behaviour had been the cause of accidents or near-misses.
A cheap car insurance expert said, "It's shocking that quite so many women admit to doing these tasks while driving.
"We all have busy lives but applying your make-up, or checking emails, when you're driving is dangerous as it means your full attention is not on the road ahead."
Ladies who are keen on looking their best at all times have been encouraged to take a look at a Youtube video featuring beauty expert Caroline Frazer. She informs drivers of the importance of applying make-up before taking to the roads.
In related news, Moneysupermarket.com recently warned that motorists who switch radio stations and consume food while driving are at an increased risk of suffering crashes, which may lead to young driver car insurance claims.
