People living in Bradford are finding that obtaining a young driver car insurance policy is now harder than ever before, according to one cheap quote comparison specialist.
This is because over the past twelve months the price of premiums for Bradford-based drivers has risen by a staggering 49.4%, from £570 to £851.
This rise compares unfavourably to other parts of the UK, where the average premium rise was around 30%.
Young driver car insurance customers have been told that the biggest factor behind costlier premiums is crippling litigation costs.
An Association of British Insurers spokesperson comments, "The main reason for this is the spiralling legal costs involved in settling personal injury claims. They are adding around ten per cent to car insurance premiums."
As such, it follows that Bradford has been a claims centre over recent years, with Barkerend named by the Motor Insurers Bureau as the UK's uninsured driver capital.
The area with the second biggest rise in the cost of young driver car insurance was West London, according to the price comparison website.
