Young driver car insurance costs can go down

A reputable insurance company has announced the launch of a new product, which could mean that young driver car insurance will be more affordable for responsible drivers.

The product is specifically aimed at the younger generation of drivers who want to save money, and believe they should not have to pay expensive premiums if they can prove they are responsible and considerate behind the wheel.

Based on the driving behaviour of the young motorist, premiums will be reduced if the policy holder can prove themselves to be safe. This scheme, which means that new driver car insurance holders will pay as they go, could mean that they save as much as £330 on average depending on how positive their driving skills are.

The insurer has said that the product will allow it to assess the driver's behaviour every three months to see if they should be rewarded for being responsible behind the wheel.

Responsible young motorists will be given a Safe Driver Discount, which could equal up to 11% off their yearly premium.

A spokesman for the insurance company said the purpose of the product was to provide an entire generation of young motorists the chance to be able to pay a reasonable price for insurance, as long as they can prove that they drive in a safe and responsible manner.

Many insurance companies, such as Hoot, are no longer offering individuals young driver car insurance with the assumption that all young motorists between 17 and 25 behave recklessly and dangerously behind the wheel of an automobile. Car cover doesn't have to be expensive if motorists compare insurance quotes before choosing an insurer.
