Competition launches safety campaign

Young drivers in Coventry and Warwickshire could be in for a chance of winning the title of Young Driver of the Year, as part of a new safety initiative.

Those entering the competition will get a chance to prove just why they deserve young driver car insurance and could even bag themselves a car thanks to Peugeot, which is sponsoring the event.

Road safety officer, Stephen Rumble, said, "Young drivers present a real problem for road safety and they are massively represented in the casualty statistics.

"It comes down to a lack of experience and over confidence in their ability.

"With this competition we are trying to instil within them a more responsible attitude, as well as trying to work with them. It's about trying to challenge young drivers."

The lucky winner will win a Peugeot 1007 and free young driver car insurance for the year.

A spokesperson for Hoot Car Insurance Services, the online motor insurance experts, said: "The scheme is a really good way to get young people involved in raising awareness about safe driving, as it benefits them too.

"To win a Peugeot along with young driver car insurance is a great prize."

2.If you have comprehensive insurance, a replacement car may be available under the terms of your insurance policy. Please check your policy details for more information.
