Young American driver collides with test centre

An Indiana woman could find herself paying over the odds for young driver car insurance - after crashing into her local driving test centre.

20-year-old Jessica Krasek was pulling into a parking bay outside the Portage Licence Bureau when her foot slipped onto the accelerator from the brake. The car shot forward, smashing through one of the bureau's front windows.

Jessica was just parking up after having completed her driving test.

She escaped unharmed from the wreck, though the Ford she was driving will never be the same again. Neither will the hip of an unfortunate bureau staff member.

It's assumed Jessica will take her next test somewhere else - if this isn't enough to make her give up driving altogether.

"That's a very thorough test failure," said Hoot spokesman Mike Page, who's seen more than his share of young driver car insurance claims.

"The poor girl must be feeling desperately sad, particularly considering the added cost of a claim on her motor insurance premium.

"I bet her instructor came down on her like a ton of bricks," he added.
