Online car insurance news 20/11/2007
Gender a factor in listening to adviceIt seems that women who are looking for an online car insurance quote have yet another reason to feel confident of finding a better deal than their male counterparts. The Highways Agency has revealed that women are far more likely than men to respond accordingly to weather warnings issued by the organisation. This is something that might further explain why female drivers usually receive cheaper online car insurance quotes than male drivers. According to the Highways Agency study, 56% of women drivers take heed of their weather warnings compared to only 40% of male drivers. The agency also reported that age was a player in people's likelihood of responding to its warnings. While 65% of 18-24 year-old drivers said that they would disregard weather warnings by making their journeys as usual, only 40% of over 65s said that they would take the same course of action. Road safety minister Jim Fitzpatrick commented, "The Highways Agency is offering a timely reminder to road users to plan their journeys and listen out for weather warnings." So the message is clear, if you are having trouble finding a cheap online car insurance quote because you have a history of accidents in bad weather, pay more attention to the Highways Agency's weather warnings.
