Lady ruins young driver car insurance rate after 3 hours driving

A Bulgarian driving student clearly wasn't thinking of her young driver car insurance rate when, just hours after passing her test, she drunkenly offered her instructor a lift home.

The pair had been out for 'a couple of wines' to celebrate her success, and a breath test revealed the woman was three times over the limit when police pulled her over for erratic driving.

"I was so happy I just didn't think about the drink drive rules," said the 23-year-old, who was stripped of the drivers licence she had obtained just three hours earlier.

Her 48-year-old instructor also failed a breath test, and lost his licence, cheap car insurance and the right to practice as an instructor after police booked him for encouraging drink driving.

"There's surely a more appropriate way to celebrate passing your test than drinking," said Mike Page, spokesman for the young driver car insurance experts at Hoot.
