Hoot and Top Gear - The perfect combination for cars and young drivers insurance
If you're lucky enough to have the cash for a nice new car, and particularly good young drivers insurance, where should you go to get the best deal for your cash? We went along to the Top Gear website and made good use of their CarChooser tool. We entered a few details and they offered us the best choices for our needs. Then we upped our budget to £15,000 to £23,300 (we know, we know, but we can dream can't we) and went for a coupé which had to be supremely comfortable, with excellent handling and super quick. Top of the pile was the Mazda RX8 followed closely by BMW 3 Series. We were surprised to note that the Alfa Romeo GT and Brera models were bottom of the pile with 11/20 and 10/20 respectively. Then once you've found your ideal car you nip off to Parkers and find out what car insurance bracket it's in - the Mazda RX8 insurance groups range from 15-17 and the Aygo is group 1, so we're guessing if we want cheap young driver's car insurance, we might be better off with the Toyota.
